Anthony Edwards Subtly Mocks Phoenix Suns With 3-Word Message After Minnesota Timberwolves Sweep
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

This year’s first round series showdown between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns was definitely an entertaining one, especially after the former swept the Kevin Durant-led team . Turns out All-Star shooting guard Anthony Edwards had fun in doing so as well.

During the pivotal Game 4 of the series, the Timberwolves got the 122-116 win over Phoenix. Edwards looked phenomenal when he dropped 40 points on 56 percent shooting from the field, nine rebounds, and six assists. Karl-Anthony Towns made 28 points by connecting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 10 boards. Jaden McDaniels added 18 points to help seal the win in favor of Minnesota.

For his part, Devin Booker went wild and notched 49 points in 44 minutes. Durant finished the game with 33 points on 70 percent shooting from the field, nine rebounds, and five assists. However, Bradley Beal didn’t show up when he just made nine points for Phoenix.

The win set up a second round showdown between the Timberwolves and a Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets team. For sure, fans will be flocking to see whether Edwards has what it takes to take down the defending champions.

The loss, on the other hand, ended Phoenix’s season as fans slowly noticed several major problems the franchise may face in the offseason, including Bradley Beal’s massive contract and the lack of assets to bring more role players into the mix.

Anthony Edwards Trolls Phoenix Suns After Minnesota Timberwolves Swept Them

After the series concluded, there were a lot of reactions directed towards the Suns’ way. Due to the inability of the Durant-led squad to get a win, most of these reactions leaned towards the negative side. Among those was Edwards’ recent post on X about his experience playing Phoenix in the first round:

Over the course of four games, Edwards averaged 31.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest. He also connected 51 percent of his field goals, 43 percent from beyond the perimeter, and 83 percent from the free throw line. His dominant performance, especially on the offensive end of the court, proved to be too much for the Suns’ All-Star trio of Durant, Booker, and Beal.

Edwards’ heroic  performance all series long certainly turned heads as more people are noticing how great he can be. With the Nuggets coming up next, the Timberwolves star may get his chance to shine more in the postseason against the defending champions.
