Jaylen Brown on Cavaliers: 'I don't think anybody over there can really guard me'

Me being aggressive, I don't think anybody over there can really guard me. I just get into the paint, take my time and I feel like that's what I've been doing, not just in the playoffs but all season long. So, I just get to my spots and just do what I do. The C’s are likely to dispatch the Cavaliers soon and will face either the New York Knicks or the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. While the Knicks could have posed a threat, their injury issues make it unlikely and the Pacers, on the other hand, could be easily handled by the Celtics.

The real question is whether JB and partner Jayson Tatum, who has picked up some form, can help the Boston Celtics overcome the Western Conference heavyweights. However, with Brown’s form and the Celtics’ strong team performance, they have a good chance of making it to the NBA Finals.

Jaylen Brown made a crucial play in the Celtics’ playoff Game 4 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he drove to the basket and finished a layup despite contact from Tristan Thompson. After the play, he grabbed Max Strus’ foot, sending him to the ground and got a common foul for his troubles.

The crowd at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse then booed Brown every time he touched the ball, but he embraced the villain role. He stated at the end of the game that he was simply trying to protect himself after feeling like he was kicked in the head.

I drove to the basket, felt like there was some contact, finished the play, landing on the ground, and I feel like somebody kicking me in the back of the head, or I feel like I got the right to remove or at least try to protect that. I wasn't trying to do nothing there and trying to trip nobody up, but at the same time, you're not about to just kick me in the head. It is what it is. Brown’s play was instrumental as the Celtics won to take the series’ scoreline to 3-1, which now puts them one game away from their third consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearance. JB finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, and a crunch-time three-pointer to help seal the victory.
